William R. Buffa, Senior Vice President and General Manager

William R. Buffa is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems America - Energy and Environment, Ltd., a position to which he was appointed in 2015.

Mr. Buffa has more than 30 years in the energy business. Prior to joining Hitachi, Mr. Buffa was with Foster Wheeler from 1976 to 2004, most recently serving as project director, for the Jacksonville Electric Authority where he was responsible for the overall management of Foster Wheeler’s $360 million scope to engineer, procure, construct and start-up an extended boiler island for the Jacksonville Electric Authority as part of their re-powering of the Northside Station. Before Foster Wheeler he served with Burns and Roe from 1976 to 1986 most recently as project manager for the Bristol Resource Recovery Facility, Bristol, CT., responsible for the preparation and review of design calculations, flow diagrams, equipment specifications, bid evaluations, negotiations with contractors and review of contractor’s drawings for various mechanical systems and equipment.

Mr. Buffa holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College, New York, NY specializing in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and refrigeration. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude from Manhattan College, specializing in thermal sciences and fluid dynamics.

Dave J. Brozek, Senior Vice President, Sales and Commercial Operations

Dave J. Brozek, Senior Vice President, Sales and Commercial Operations

David J. Brozek is currently Senior Vice President of Sales & Commercial Operations for Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems America - Energy and Environment Inc., headquartered in Basking Ridge, NJ, a position to which he was appointed in 2015.

Mr. Brozek joined Hitachi America, Ltd. in 1994 and was initially responsible as a Product Manager for all proposal development and project execution of Hitachi’s Turbine and SCR product lines. Since that time, he has held continuing positions of responsibility within Hitachi including Director of Sales, General Manager and Vice President of the Power & Industrial Division of Hitachi America, Ltd. Responsibilities included Engineering, Operations, Sales and Marketing of Hitachi’s Energy Product Lines.

Mr. Brozek holds a BSEE degree with a major in Control and Communication Systems from the University of Connecticut graduating in 1986. In addition, Mr. Brozek completed the Executive Development Business Program from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in May, 2004.

Alan K. Kukoski is Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems America - Energy and Environment, Ltd., a position to which he was appointed in 2005.

Before joining Hitachi, Mr. Kukoski previously served with the Foster Wheeler Power Group from 1978 to 2004, most recently as director of engineering and technology where he was responsible for all process engineering work including AQCS performance; engineering department budget and liquidations; review and approval of technical risk assessments for major PC and CFB projects, $5MM and above; support proposal and sales efforts for perspective projects; corporate patent review and approval; and technical support for corporate research and development programs. He joined Foster Wheeler and a field service engineer.

Mr. Kukoski holds a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He also was enrolled in post graduate studies in the Mechanical Engineering PhD program at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Finance for Technical Executives at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology, and the Management Program Sloan School of Management, Pennsylvania State University, January 2002.

Larry White, Vice President of Commercial Operations

Larry White, Vice President of Commercial Operations

Larry White is Vice President of Commercial Operations for Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems America – Energy and Environment, Ltd., a position to which he was appointed in 2015.

Mr. White joined Hitachi in 2006 as a Project manager with complete responsibilities for the design and supply of a 900 MW coal fired boiler to be installed and successfully operated in the United States.

Current After Market responsibilities include providing all necessary support and services relative to Hitachi supplied power products pertaining to thermal power plants within North America. Primary product focus includes steam generators, pulverizers, burners, Wet FGD, Dry FGD and SCR systems including Catalyst Management Services. Product focus is not limited to Hitachi units but can include retrofits of Hitachi products on plants regardless of original supplier. In addition, services are also available for existing power plant equipment with respect to engineering studies, assessments, conversions, modifications and upgrades.

Mr. White has 30 years of experience in the Power Industry including construction, field service, performance testing, engineering, proposals, sales and management positions. Prior to joining Hitachi, Mr. White spent 21 years with Foster Wheeler in positions of increasing responsibility, and shorter employments with Matrix Services and Mitsubishi.

Mr. White earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Marine Engineering from State University of New York, Maritime College and he is a licensed professional engineer in the State of New Jersey. He also held a United States Coast Guard License as 3rd Assistant Engineer, Unlimited Horsepower, Steam and Diesel.
